The CEGV - Who are we?

  • The Computing in Education Group of Victoria is the Professional Association supporting teachers who see computers as integral in the teaching and learning process.
  • The CEGV is the only association that actively promotes and supports computer use in all subject areas and across all levels - from Early Years to Tertiary.
  • The CEGV is a major provider of education computing information and inservice activities in Victoria.
  • The CEGV provides liaison with computer education associations in other states , with the national associations Australian Council for Computers in Education and the Technology Education Federation of Australia, and with the international association, International society for Technology in Education.

Preface

This is a senior position within the CEGV with special administrative responsibility for the STATE WIDE project and Membership Services. The incumbent will be a team player with excellent communication skills and a commitment to the goals and aspirations of a dynamic, service oriented, not-for-profit organisation.

The Senior Administrative Officer will ensure that the implementation of the designated tasks reflect the outcomes of the CEGV Business Plan and that the services delivered to members and clients are both efficient and of high quality.

Reporting

The Senior Administration Officer will:

  • Be a member of the CEGV's Project's Reference Group and report through the convenor of that group to the State Council. The incumbent will liaise with the Department of Education's Senior Project Officer Professional and Leadership Development on matters of administration of the State wide program and ensure compliance with the requirements of the Service Agreement.

  • Report to the Business Manager as appropriate.

Specific Duties

Ensure the efficient operation of the State wide Program as detailed in the Service Agreement. This includes:

  • The monitoring of teachers and participants
  • Organization of the Leadership Program
  • Maintenance of the Leadership Manuals
  • Monitoring of bookings
  • Financial accountability
  • Ensuring the efficient administration, review and distribution of Action Research Projects
  • Evaluation of Courses and Leaders
  • Reviews and Monitors trends in the electronic evaluation forwarded to the Department of Education.
  • Ensures that adequate resources are provided to enable courses to run efficiently
  • Provide up to date and accurate data to advertise programs

  • The senior administrative officer will liaise with and report to the Business manager with regards staffing matters. The incumbent will, in consultation with the Business Manager, delegate tasks to any casual staff employed.

  • Actively promote the CEGV amongst teachers and schools and other potential clients

    • Post routine materials and information to the CEGV website, after appropriate inservice
    • Other duties as required

  • The incumbent will be responsible, in consultation with the Finance Committee, for proposing appropriate budgets and for ensuring that these budgets are monitored and adhered to.

  • The Senior Administrative Officer will, in consultation with the Education Officer and Business Manager:

    • Ensure that the membership database is current
    • Check for anomalies in the membership database and ensure and effective system of maintenance.

Position details

  1. The incumbent will work a five day week.
  2. The rate of pay will be 38,925.75 including superannuation of 7%.
  3. The period of employment will be until June 25, with, however, a strong expectation that the position will continue.
